DMX To Be Released From Prison Next Week
DMX is known for barking with the best of them and hip-hop hits like 1998's “Get At Me Dog” and “Party Up in Here” among other records. Since 2000, however, he's been dancing a tricky tango with the law when he was arrested for marijuana and driving without a license. He was most recently locked down in July 2010 after turning himself into Los Angeles’ authorities for what he said was “from something that happened from like six ago. A driving infraction.”
AllHipHop.com reported the 40-year-old Yonkers, New York native will be released in a matter of days. According to his rep, X is looking forward to working again. However, they also admit to being in the early stages of helping him "rebuild his career in staying on the right track this time.” Until then, the rep says to look out for DMX as he plans to perform several shows post-prison.
Not leaving without a scandal, his rep also tells AllHipHop.com, “DMX never snuck anything into the prison." And, "As far as him smoking in jail…a guard felt that DMX was smoking outside of a designated lined area in the smoking court and started harassing him, which resulted in the charge.” DMX’s charge of sneaking drugs into his prison is supposedly hyped up and dates back to January of this year.
DMX’s last album was “Year of the Dog…Again” in 2006.
