Ace Hood Talks About Collaborating With Lil Wayne and Rick Ross
Ever wonder how to make a hit record in an overcrowded music scene? Well, Ace Hood already knows. The Miami-based rapper made a big splash with a song featuring two of the game’s hottest rappers. In the video for his “Hustle Hard (Remix),” Ace scores big with cameos from both Lil Wayne and Rick Ross for his comeback single.
“It’s actually kind of crazy how it came up with Wayne ‘cause I always been a big fan of [his] since 500 Degrees and The Block Is Hot," Ace told BET.com in an exclusive interview. “I pretty much went up to him and he was like, ‘Yo, I would love to be a part of the remix.’ I was like, 'That’s crazy.' I mean, it’s Wayne, that’s big. So, I sent the instrumental to Wayne and literally a few days later he sent me the vocals back, and [the rest is] history.”
Rick Ross is also featured on the ubiquitous cut. According to Ace Hood, Ross was “ecstatic” about getting on the record. “I actually approached Ross about the situation personally. I went to [his] home and I basically asked [him] for a favor,” he recalls. Ace says the Boss has been supportive, showing his camaraderie for his fellow Miami brethren. “He was just happy to see me doing my thing, my own thing.”
