50 Cent Loses Bid to Dismiss Sex Tape Lawsuit
On Thursday (Jan. 2), a New York City judge denied 50's motion to have a 2010 lawsuit filed by Ross's ex-girlfriend, Lastonia Leviston, thrown out, reports the New York Daily News.
Leviston sued 50 for mental and emotional distress after he [allegedly] unlawfully released a sex tape of her and her boyfriend at the time, Maurice Murray.
According to a sworn deposition, Murray gave 50 the footage in 2009, during the height of the Queens MC's clash with Ross. An altered version of the flick was posted online and viewed more than three million times. Leviston's face was on full display, Murray's image was blurred.
50 has admitted to changing the footage to include himself (as the wig-wearing character "Pimpin' Curly,"), but denies leaking the tape, or using Leviston's image illegally. He has yet to publicly address the judge's decision to have a jury weigh in on the case.
Leviston is seeking unspecified damages.
