Niecy Nash Rocks Colorful Feather Dress for First Pride Parade
Actress Niecy Nash stepped out for her first Pride event this week in West Hollywood, California. The "Claws" alum and her wife Jessica Betts attended the event, and Nash shared a photo of them in front of a backdrop. The 53-year-old actress looked stunning in a sparkly rainbow-feathered dress, while Betts was more understated in a sweater, pants, and a hat.
"#pride FULL," Nash wrote added a rainbow series of hearts, "Thank you for the LOVE Â (first pride parade down, forever to go)," she added.
Betts, who performed at the event, left with several heart-eyed emojis beneath Nash's post
The veteran actress also shared a video clip from the parade where she ran into actress Melissa McCarthy who plays Ursula the Sea Witch in the new live-action version of Disney's The Little Mermaid.
According to Good Morning America, McCarthy wore a sequined rainbow dress with a headpiece with the words "Say Gay" written in a speech bubble over her head. In the video, the two compliment one another's outfits before Nash congratulates McCarthy on her performance as Ursula in "The Little Mermaid" live-action film.
Nash and Betts were married in August 2020, and in announcing their marriage, Nash shared several photos from the occasion, writing simply, "Mrs. Carol Denise Betts đ." She added the hashtag #LoveWins and a rainbow emoji.
In a post the following month responding to negative and discriminatory comments about their marriage, she wrote, "some people are not happy unless you're sad.... if that's you, keep scrolling. Only the happy are invited!
