Here's How Snoop Dogg Reacted When He Was Asked to Induct Tupac Into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Last night (April 7) Tupac was officially inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, making history as the very first solo hip-hop artist to ever receive the honor.
The late icon's friend Snoop Dogg was recruited to do the honors and induct the rapper during the historic ceremony. While the special won't air until April 29 on HBO, Snoop shared his reaction of receiving the call asking if he'd be interested in participating in the ceremony.
While promoting his forthcoming album, Neva Left, at a recent listening party, Snoop shared what went through his mind when he was asked to induct Tupac into the Hall of Fame.
"Wow that was deep, because a lot of people could’ve did it and for them to have me do it, that’s special," he reflected. "We were friends prior to being on Death Row and we were friends while we were on Death Row, but our relationship was different. So me being able to express some views on who he was and what he meant to me and the world and music in general, also to share a couple of stories between me and him that really impacted my life."
He then goes on to share how much Tupac's legacy and music means to him personally.
"Just to be associated with the greatest, he was only a part of my industry move as far as creatively for two or three years, but his music lasts forever," Snoop added. "So for them to give me the call to do it is an honor, treat and a pleasure. I want y’all to go see the movie too, All Eyez On Me. That s**t is off the hook."
Considering Snoop Dogg's history and relationship with Tupac, it's only fitting he was involved in the history-making occasion.
