Donovan McNabb Works Out With Ex-Eagles Teammates

Donovan McNabb will soon be looking for a new team after spending one season with the Washington Redskins.

But the long-time Philadelphia Eagle has found a solution to working out in solitude. McNabb joined some of his former Eagles teammates for a players-run practice Wednesday in effort to stay in shape for once the NFL lockout ends and he hits the open market.

McNabb and about six of his ex-Eagles teammates worked out at Memorial Sports Complex in Marlton, N.J, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. McNabb is technically still a member of the Washington Redskins, where he spent one disastrous season, but almost certainly will be with a new team when the 2011 season begins.

He downplayed any significance to his working out with former teammates Wednesday.

“I’m just focused on working out, it’s what I do in the offseason,” McNabb told reporters. “So, working with a great group of guys. [The Power Train] guys did a wonderful job of preparing those guys. So, I was just looking forward to it.”

But McNabb has gone out of his way to make it known that he is in great shape and ready to play football for somebody next season. He has been in limbo because there has been no business in the NFL since the lockout began March 12.

“I’m just working out right now,” McNabb said. “As you can see, I’m in some great shape and I’m only gonna get better.”
