Drake Signs ILOVEMAKONNEN to OVO Sound
Today just might be ILOVEMAKONNEN's favorite day. The "Club Goin Up (Tuesday)" rapper has officially released his single's remix to iTunes, and in doing so revealed that he's the latest signee to Drake's OVO Sound.
The big news came via subtle announcement on Twitter, where ILOVEMAKONNEN posted a pic of the OVO Sound logo and a download link to the remix –– simply titled "Tuesday" –– with the official OVO stamp on it.
"Goodnight," was all he wrote.
The 25-year-old Atlanta-based rapper/producer gave his hometown a hint of the new partnership when he appeared on stage for the Drake vs. Lil Wayne tour at Aaron's Amphitheatre at Lakewood Sunday night (Aug. 31). He's also been spotted on the road, backstage at the Queens, N.Y., show.
Earlier this year, ILOVEMAKONNEN released his self-titled EP via iTunes, led by the Sonny Digital-produced single and another buzz track, "I Don't Sell Molly No More." Drizzy jumped on the former song's remix, adding a verse in August.
Drake has also signed PARTYNEXTDOOR, Majid Jordan and O B O'Brien to the October's Very Own label. The imprint picked up distribution with Warner Bros. Records last year.
