Drake Talks Signing Ma$e to OVO Sound
After building another successful OVO Fest in Toronto this year, Drake, Mr. "Hold On We're Going Home," told MTV that he'd "love to work with" Ma$e. Does this mean a possible signing of the Harlem World rapper to his OVO Sound?
Well, he's being discreet about the deets. But he told MTV, "Me and Ma$e have just been talking about what he wants to do and what the future holds, what he wants to do, and anything is possible ... I would love to work with him. I told him, 'I hope tonight is not our last conversation.'"
Last year, M-A Dollar told Sway on RapFix Live that "There's only two people that I would work with ... The only two that would make sense to me would be Kanye or Drake — he doesn't have a label, but those are the only two that I would entertain." Why Drake? "I think he's like the closest to what I believe I would've been if I didn't leave music. I like his ability to express how he feel, and not being afraid, and he could really rap."
Since then, Warner Bros. Records picked up Drake's indie label with a distribution deal.
All three, men — Drake, Ma$e and Kanye — as well as Ma$e's first label head, Diddy, performed at the 2013 OVO Fest.
