Deion Sanders, Eddie George Headline 2011 College Football Hall of Fame Inductees

Deion Sanders, along with 13 other former college football greats, was inducted into the 2011 College Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday.

Before he was "Primetime," Deion Sanders was The Man for the Florida State Seminoles.

For his efforts, Sanders, along with 13 other former college football greats, was inducted into the 2011 College Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday. Sanders was an All-American cornerback for the Seminoles from 1985–88 before going on to a spectacular career in the NFL. Sanders, of course, went on to redefine the cornerback position in the NFL where he won Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.

Joining Sanders in the 2011 class is former Heisman Trophy-winning running back Eddie George from Ohio State, West Virginia linebacker Darryl Talley ('79–'82), Miami defensive tackle Russell Maryland ('86–'90) and Nebraska offensive lineman Will Shields ('89–'92). In total, 14 former players and two head coaches were inducted into the hall of fame.

"It goes without saying that this year's College Football Hall of Fame class is an exceptional group of men who have forged some of the most legendary careers in the history of our sport," said Archie Manning, the current chairman of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame and also inductee from Ole Miss.

The 2011 will be inducted at the National Football Foundation Annual Awards Dinner in December and then will be officially enshrined at the College Football Hall of Fame in the summer of 2012.
