Lil B Responds to Freddie Gibbs Criticism
Lil B’s positive persona is apparently unshakeable. The controversial rap figure spoke to MTV in response to the unfavorable comments Gary, Indiana, rapper Freddie Gibbs made about him at a show in Brooklyn last month.
“These guys have their opinion,” said Lil B. “As an adult, how I want to live my life, I can take a step back and breathe, before I react to something. Some of the words they might have said that might have been the best, or whatever, but at the end of the day, rap is rap. Rap draws emotions. I have my opinion and they have theirs ... some people just miss it.”
As previously reported, Freddie Gibbs slammed the Bay Area rapper calling him out for his lyrical content. Gibbs told BET.com, “I don’t have nothing against Lil B. I don’t know him personally to have anything against him. You know I don’t have an issue with him. I don’t want to fight him. I don’t want people to think I’m picking on him ... but I have an opinion like everybody else. I have an opinion about the message he delivers: I think that shit is wack.”
Lil B’s policy is generally to steer clear of negativity, which he continues to do, opting instead to focus on his upcoming EP with Jay Electronica.
