The love story between Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia has ended.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Williams filed to divorce the Nigerian businessman on Thursday (Feb.22) in Atlanta. News of their split comes after they had been married less than two years. 

Lately, Guobadia's citizenship status in the United States has been a trending topic on social media. Still, a source confirmed to the outlet that their split is "unrelated to recent allegations involving Simon's past," but rather an "ongoing matter."

After one month of dating, the couple had a whirlwind romance and got engaged in May 2021. Then, they exchanged vows in November 2022 while hosting two lavish weddings featuring a traditional Nigerian-themed event and an American ceremony.

Before news dropped of their split, Williams made headlines earlier this month for a different reason when she announced her return to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" for season 16 following her departure from the franchise in 2021.

Williams is mom to daughter Pilar, 4, whom she shares with ex Dennis McKinley. She and Guobadia do not have any children.

Neither Williams nor Guobadia has spoken out regarding their separation.
