Dwayne Johnson Celebrates His Mom’s Birthday In A Special Way
Dwayne Johnson honored his mom with a heartfelt surprise for her on a milestone birthday.
To celebrate his beloved mom, Ata Johnson's 75th trip around the sun, the action star gifted the birthday girl with a sweet balloon display that spelled her name in Samoan, as reported by PEOPLE.
“We had fun telling the balloon company my mom’s full FIRST NAME in SAMOAN 🤣😊🇼🇸,” he captioned the post on Instagram. “MATANIUFEAGAIMALEATA - ATA for short ❤️.”
His post also included a fun video of Ata dancing to music as she walked beside the display while wearing a white lei necklace.
"She has some cool Samoan history behind her name as well," the doting son added to the caption. "I always say that we got a pretty good shot in life to becoming a good, kind human being — if we got a great mom raising us."
He continued, "I sure got lucky having this woman as my mom. Happy 75th mom! We love you!!"
That same day, the "Black Adam" actor also had another surprise in his back pocket for her: a performance from a Polynesian dance group that highlighted their Samoan heritage.
"For my mom’s birthday, we weren’t able to take her home to Samoa, but we were able to bring our Samoan culture home to her," he wrote in the post.
While sitting in the front row with her family, Ata was overcome with emotion.
"She cried the whole time 😊🥹," he added in the caption. "You can feel the mana."
