Andy Cohen Admits He Needs To Apologize To Garcelle Beauvais For His Distasteful Interaction at ‘RHOBH’ Reunion
Andy Cohen is regretting a moment where he dismissed Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Garcelle Beauvais’ feelings.
“I need to sincerely apologize,” Cohen said on a recent episode of Radio Andy on SiriusXM. "Not only for [my] diverting the topic but for not returning, even worse, to the serious conversation that was at hand."
During part two of the RHOBH reunion which aired on Wednesday (Oct. 26), Lisa Rinna confessed that she had tossed Beauvais’ memoir in the garbage, not Erika Giradi, which later created a viral social media moment on Giradi’s Instagram, according to PEOPLE.
"I have to be honest: I'm the one that tossed Garcelle's book in the trash," Rinna shared, before explaining that she was still upset that Beauvais had brought up the topic of Rinna's daughter Amelia Hamlin's eating disorder in the previous season.
Cohen later distastefully asked Rinna if she recycles during the last installment of the reunion. Fans later went on to Twitter to share their thoughts about the moment and pointed out that Beauvais looked visibly upset.
"Garcelle fighting back tears while they laugh about recycling…? Andy is part of the problem #RHOBHReunion #RHOBH," one viewer wrote.
Another added, "Honestly, the book in the trash - and @Andy's abhorrent behavior at the reunion - is one big metaphor for how Garcelle is treated on this show. It's infuriating… and heartbreaking. #RHOBH"
Cohen later shared on Monday (Oct. 24) that he and Beauvais "had a really good, productive conversation” and that he “should've been more in tune with her feelings. I just want to say that.”
Beauvais has not yet publicly responded to the incident.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion concludes Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
