Meek Mill Speaks on Troy Ave Shooting
Troy Ave was recently arrested and pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, reckless endangerment and illegal weapons possession after a shooting last Wednesday (May 25) at Irving Plaza that left three wounded and one dead.
Ever since the initial footage was released by police, the hip-hop world has been taking sides as to whether they believe Troy Ave was really the person that killed his bodyguard and BSB associate Ronald "Edgar" McPhatter.
Meek Mill is declaring himself part of Team Troy and took to Instagram last night (May 30) to let everyone know why he believes his rap colleague is innocent.
“The laws they made ain’t designed to protect us!” he captioned a pic of the Brooklyn rapper being wheeled into court. “‘They like get killed or get a 100 years’ Don’t let the press ‘gas’ you to go against ya own people! Because if that was a cop Tryna protect his life the police force gone stand behind them 100% ‘Pic look crazy’ #freetroy & never let these ‘bum a** nobody ‘sucka’ crab in the barrel dudes pull you down! Most of the time it’s all for attention…. that’s all these bustas be wanting forreal!”
Troy Ave, real name Roland Collins, pleaded not guilty to all crimes this morning and actually claimed he was the victim of what transpired last week. Prosecutors are claiming that Troy fired five times in a crowded venue with no concern for the safety of others.
Police searched the vehicle Troy Ave took to the hospital and found three firearms. Assistant District Attorney Christine Keenan claims ballistics tests confirmed one of the guns was used at the shooting. Troy Ave’s legal team says he wasn’t the one who fired the fatal shots that killed McPhatter and was only acting in retaliation to a perceived threat he faced by someone else.
