Stepson of Missing Billionaire on Titanic Submarine Responds to Cardi B's Criticisms Over Concert Attendance During Search
Cardi B. is publicly condemning Brian Szasz, the son of British billionaire Hamish Harding, for his disconcerting apathy towards the news of his father's disappearance. Alongside four other passengers, Hamish went missing during a recent expedition to the Titanic wreckage site, located approximately 12,500 feet below the surface.
On Tuesday, (June 20), the mother of two, took to her Instagram Story where she scolded the 37-year-old for attending a Blink-182 concert amid the search for his stepfather. “People is like, um, ‘What is he supposed to do? Be sad at the house? Is he supposed to go look for him himself?’” the “WAP” emcee explained.
“Yes. You’re supposed to be at the house sad. You’re supposed to be crying for me. You’re supposed to be right next to the phone waiting to hear any updates about me,” Cardi shared.
“You supposed to be right next to the phone waiting to hear any updates about me,” she said, putting herself in the missing billionaire’s situation. “You supposed to be consoling your mom and s–t.”
The 30-year-old speculated what could be at the root of their family dynamic to cause such behavior, adding, “Isn't it sad that you're a whole f—king billionaire and nobody gives a f--k about you? Like, you missing and motherf—kers are ready to [be at] a concert. That's crazy. I'd rather be broke and poor and knowing that I'm loved.”
Roughly half an hour after revealing he knew someone at the center of the critical international underwater search, Szasz shared a Facebook post with the caption, “It might be distasteful being here but my family would want me to be at the blink-182 show as it's my favorite band and music helps me in difficult times!" Szasz ultimately deleted the post at the request of his mother.
Szasz addressed Cardi’s remarks in a later Twitter post, writing, “What a pos [sic] trashy celeb. Cardi B trying to get clout off me and my families suffering. I went to a Blink 182 concert for coping rather than sitting at home and watching the news. Shame on you Cardi get some class!”
A search has since been underway for Harding and the other missing passengers. As of Tuesday night, those on board the vehicle had two days of oxygen left.
