Watch Michelle Obama Strut Down ‘Jennifer Hudson Show’ Happy Place Tunnel
“The Jennifer Hudson Show” crew was “honored” to have recent guest Michelle Obama in the house, and she humored them with a playful ‘Happy Place’ dance.
On Monday, December 15, an Instagram post from the Jennifer Hudson-hosted talk show teased that the former First Lady was in the building for a guest appearance. The crew dedicated a special song to her, interpolating Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish.” The wife of 44th U.S. President Barack Obama and mother of two wore box braids, a gray oversized blazer, and a leather dress that matched with thigh-high boots.
“So honored to have you, Michelle Obama at the happy place,” the crew sang. “Michelle Obama’s walking, we can’t let her go/ She’s a classy lady, we just love her so. We got Michelle Obama at the happy place!”
While the attorney and author made her way closer to the stage, the crew sweetly continued singing, “We do, we do, we do.”
Through the Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions, in October, the couple launched the music podcast “The Wonder of Stevie,” in honor of the legendary soul musician. “Stevie Wonder’s music has meant so much to me over the years,” Mrs. Obama wrote in the Instagram caption below. “The first vinyl I ever bought was Stevie’s “Talking Book”, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Whether it was dancing to “You and I” at my wedding or grooving to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” during Barack’s 2008 campaign, his music has been the soundtrack for some of my fondest memories.
In a 2023 episode of “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” (around the 1:30-minute mark of the video below), Mrs. Obama even confessed that she “fangirled out” upon meeting Wonder.
Mrs. Obama’s “Jennifer Hudson Show” episode airs on Tuesday, December 17.
