The hip-hop mogul hosted a private event in Atlanta where he unveiled a specially-curated art installation on Wednesday (Aug. 14). The three-piece artwork immortalized Nipsey’s short-yet-prolific legacy and his undeniable impact on hip-hop as a beacon. The moving installation paid homage to Nipsey’s Los Angeles roots while illustrating the brother, father, friend, son and hero he was to many.

The centerpiece of newly-added installation was a nod to Nipsey’s Grammy-nominated Victory Lap album. Atlanta muralists Dizzy and Quake re-created Nip’s first and only studio release with a bench area.  

Also featured was an angelic portrait of Nipsey created by New York artist Brian Kirhagis, also known as BK The Artist. In the painting, a halo etched with all that he cherished is wrapped around a silhouette of Nipsey. 

Perhaps the most moving piece was a framed blue and red Crenshaw jersey, an enduring symbol of Nipsey’s stride towards changing gang culture in LA.
