Shenseea Distributes Care and Relief Packages to Hurricane Beryl Victims in Jamaica
Shenseea is giving back to her native land. Over the weekend, the dancehall singer arrived in her hometown of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, to help those impacted by Hurricane Beryl.
Last Wednesday (July 3), the category four storm struck Jamaica as it brought fierce winds and heavy rain after killing at least seven people and causing significant damage in the southeast Caribbean, according to reports. Prime Minister Andrew Holness revealed that nearly 500 residents were placed in shelters.
The “Good Comfort” hitmaker distributed tarpaulins and food packages to over 300 residents. She also spoke with the families affected by the hurricane, offering words of encouragement, solidarity, and solace. Shenseea took this action with the help of her son, Rajeiro Lee, Major Marketing, Honey Bun Ja, Lasco iCool Water, Grace Foods, Digicel, LP Azar, and Stoplight Wholesale.
“My last 48 hours [have] been wholesome as I prepared and distributed care [and] relief packages to my home parish that has been drastically affected by #HurricaneBeryl. I’m so grateful God put me in a position to take care of my people! Big thanks to my team @romeichentertainment for executing the vision… Always!” Shenseea captioned an Instagram post.
Beryl also hit southern Texas as a category on hurricane Monday (July 8) morning, knocking out power in more than 2.5 million homes and leaving at least eight people dead in Texas and Louisiana, CNN reported.
