Video: Justin Bieber Speaks on Crossing Over to BET Audience
Bieber Fever's continually spreading and there's no cure in sight.
In the past year, the 16-year-old has gone from guilty pleasure to seemingly tapping into every demographic, including BET's audience. But what exactly is the secret to JB's huge cross over appeal?
"I think it's just about being yourself and being someone everyone can love," Bieber told BET News correspondent Tony Anderson. "I don't want to limit myself to one category or one style or music I think that music is music and it's the universal language."
JB undoubtedly draws inspiration from black music. After all, he chose to sign with Usher over Justin Timberlake. When asked who some of his influences are, he goes back to the man who gave him his shot at stardom.
"Usher has been very influential in my life," Bieber said. "He has been a mentor and a big brother so he is definitely someone I look up to in my life."
