Sheryl Lee Ralph Awarded The Order Of Jamaica

The actress, who is Jamaican, is winning all around.

Sheryl Lee Ralph is wrapping her year up on a high note as she was awarded the Order of Jamaica on Monday.

The Emmy-award-winning actress shared a photo from the ceremony with the caption, “Well, it is now official! I am The Honourable Sheryl Lee Ralph OJ.”

“Warrior Woman,” the actress ended the caption before adding the Jamaican flag emoji.

In addition to Ralph, the ceremony also honored 143 notable Jamaicans, including recording artist Agent Sasco and jazz pianist Monty Alexander.

The prestigious honor is ranked fourth in the order of precedence in Jamaica, and is awarded to “any Jamaican citizen of outstanding distinction or upon any distinguished citizen of a country other than Jamaica (honorary member). Members of the Order are styled "Honourable" and are entitled to place the letters “OJ” after their name. The motto of the Order is "For a covenant of the People."

This comes off the heels of her huge Emmy win last month, winning Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and becoming the second Black woman to do so, following Jackee Harry.

Congrats Sheryl!
