Yesterday on Fox 5’s Good Day DC, the morning anchors were presented with the “world’s most desirable face” and a couple of the anchors were less than impressed. 

For the last 10 years, Dr. Julian De Silva, a cosmetic surgeon at the Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery in London, has tracked the female faces that her patients wish to recreate the most. From her data, she compiled features from the most “desired” faces into one face.

Although this may seem cute and harmless, as the segment went on, it became very clear to Maureen Umeh and Wisdom Martin, the two Black anchors on the program, that the face included no features of any Black celebrities.

As the segment continues, the anchors discuss why Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has the most desirable nose and Umeh and Martin take a page out of Angela Rye’s book, throwing shade so hard that all of DC felt a chill.

Being able to watch a news professional let their true feelings come through their poker face is a gift we are rarely afforded, but when it happens, oh how sweet it is.
