50 Cent to Produce and Star in Serial Killer Movie
Rapper/actor 50 Cent is set to start filming a new movie based on a real-life serial killer titled "The Frozen Ground" on October 17. The thriller, to be filmed in Anchorage, Alaska, tells the story of Robert Hansen, who murdered more than 17 women in the 1970s and 80s by luring prostitutes before kidnapping, raping and then setting them loose before hunting them down.
The movie will star John Cusack as Hansen, Nicolas Cage as an Alaska State Trooper, 50 Cent as a pimp, and Vanessa Hudgens as a prostitute who manages to get away. According to the Anchorage Daily News, the rapper will be in the state for two weeks to play his role.
Though the film is being filmed by Emmett/Furla films, one of the movie's producers, Randall Emmett, has also partnered up with 50 Cent for a separate production company called Cheetah Vision Films that will have him starring in at least four films in 2011 and 2012. His straight-to-DVD action flick "Set Up" was released Wednesday.
