Jennifer Hudson Scheduled to Perform at Obama's 50th Birthday Bash

But with the debt ceiling looming, the president may skip his own party.

Jennifer Hudson is ready to sing "Happy Birthday, Mr. President," but will Obama be a no-show? Plans are underway for a grand 50th birthday gala for the president at the Aragon Ballroom in his hometown of Chicago. But with the debt ceiling about to crash, Obama may not be in the party mood. Sources from the White House say that the President will not attend the party and fundraiser in his honor.
Hopefully for all those that paid between $50 and $10,000 for tickets to the event, the show will still go on. Hudson is headlining the concert, and is meant to be joined on stage by jazz legend Herbie Hancock and punk-rock outfit OK GO.
All funds raised from the event will go towards the Obama Victory Fund 2012, a joint Obama 2012 re-election campaign/Democratic National Committee fund.
