Young Thug Manager Suspected in Lil Wayne Tour Bus Shooting
Police are pointing to the rift between Lil Wayne and Young Thug as motivation for shots fired last month.
According to TMZ, an arrest warrant has been issued for Thugga's road manager, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, 21, to face charges for aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a felon, and criminal gang activity.
Reportedly, an argument inside an Atlanta club spilled into the street, where one of Weezy's tour buses was shot at multiple times.
The two rappers have had a strained relationship in the public eye. Wayne's been lamenting his standing with the label, while Thugga's been mocking it with the release of Tha Barter 6 and, possibly, the upcoming mixtape, Tha Carter V. He insists, however, that there's no backhand to those compliments.
"I understand that Lil Wayne is frustrated about his career, and I feel him on that, but this is my idol," he said in April. "I wouldn't ever in my life swap words with him or beef with him about nothin'. This is a person that I look up to."
Meanwhile, Tunechi hasn't let the incident run him off the road. He's still scheduled to appear at KMEL's Summer Jam next month on June 13.
