For his cover story with Kore magazine, Lance Gross opened up about one of his fans’ favorite subjects: his dating life. The House of Payne star was asked if he ever dated outside of his race. Gross answered, “I’ve dated Latin women. It’s different culturally speaking we come from two [different] sides….It’s cool, but I’m use to sistahs.” He added, “I like someone with a little bit of edge, who’s strong I don’t like a woman that is going to allow me to run all over her. I need someone that will snap back.”

When prompted on how he balances work and love, Lance explained, “I’ve always said that I want to be with someone that I can build with, I don’t mind meeting that person now. As a matter of fact, I would love to meet them now and build together. I’m still on the first step so if you’re with me from the jump it makes for a better situation.”

The increasingly popular film and television actor was also questioned about whether or not he feels like he’s on top. Lance said no, noting, “I can’t take the throne yet, I’m just starting in this industry. While a lot of people may look at me and say, 'Wow, he’s successful,' it’s still on the first step. There are hundreds more to go. I mean, I’m going to get to the top, but I’m still in motion.”
