Rihanna Attends A$AP Rocky’s Gun Assault Trial

Rihanna showed up to support her partner and the father of her two sons, RZA and Riot.

Rihanna made her first court appearance to support A$AP Rocky in his gun assault trial on Wednesday, January 29.

It was in the afternoon during day three of the trial that the singer and entrepreneur was reported to have been in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, where she sat between Rocky’s mother, Renee Black, and the rapper’s younger sister, Erika B. Giving their testimony on the stand was Rocky’s accuser and former friend, Terrell Ephron, formerly known as A$AP Relli. Ephron has alleged that the Harlem native, born Rakim Mayers, grazed his left hand with bullets from a firearm in Los Angeles in November 2021.

As detailed by the “Associated Press,” Rihanna was not documented on camera while in court but appeared to have listened closely when Ephron continued his testimony. Rihanna and Rocky share two sons, RZA, 2, and 17-month-old Riot. The artist was said to have worn a long black dress and eyeglasses.

During jury selection, whether Rihanna was considered to be Rocky’s ‘common law wife’ was questioned, which the prosecution rejected, as the 9-time Grammy winner and Rocky are not married.

In his testimony, Ephron insisted that the firearm used was “a real gun,” despite lawyers for Rocky calling the weapon a “prop gun” that was used in a music video that he and Rihanna previously filmed. Ephron explained that since accusing Rocky of firing the gun at him, he’s been labeled a “snitch” and has gotten death threats.

Tuesday, January 28, marked the beginning of Ephron’s testimony, where he detailed that he and Rocky had become estranged, thus leading to their 2021 confrontation, and that he was “stunned” when shot.

Rihanna reportedly left the courthouse and evaded cameras outside through a restricted area while Rocky exited through the main doors. The rapper faces a maximum sentence of 24 years after turning down a final plea offer that included 180 days in jail, a seven-year suspended sentence, and three years of probation.
