Russell Westbrook seemed hell-bent on looking for his offense early on in the NBA All-Star Game and well, the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard found plenty of it all night long.

Westbrook scored 41 points to lead the West past the East 163-158 at the 64th NBA All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday night. Westbrook earned the game's MVP for his efforts and was handed the trophy at center court by NBA commissioner Adam Silver. His 27 points in the first half set an All-Star Game record for most points in a half and his 41 total points fell one point shy of tying the All-Star Game-high of 42 points by Wilt Chamberlain. 

"[Wilt's] a great," Westbrook said to TNT's Ernie Johnson. "I'm happy to be close to him. I know I missed like four or five layups."

James Harden chipped in with 29 points for the West. LeBron James led the East with 30 points, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Jordan for most career points in the All-Star Game's history, only trailing Kobe Bryant on the list now. The game as a whole broke an All-Star Game record for most combined points with 321.

James helped the East spark a 25-12 run to erase a 20-point deficit in the second quarter, heading to halftime down by a single point with a score of 83-82. The East would tie the offensive-heavy game at 122 by the end of the third quarter. Ultimately however, the West would pull away late on the strength of Harden and Westbrook leading the team to victory.
