When his latest album dropped, ScHoolboy Q received some flack for releasing a project on what is considered one of the most disturbing weeks of the year for the Black community — police gunned down two defenseless Black men, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. However, it was a lyric in the album cut "Black THougHts" that angered his fans, where he declared "all lives matter." Now, the MC is addressing what he meant by those choice of words.

In a tweet sent out on the week of the killings, Q said he felt "f****d up" that his album had to drop at such a sensitive time. Just a week after the release, fans were in an uproar about the lyric, where he raps:

"Let's put the rags down and raise our kids/ Let's put the guns down and blaze a spliff/ Let's do it now, ain't no buts or ifs/ It took a Blood to get me Pringle chips/ You can learn to fly or take the ladder/ Real n***a s**t, all lives matter, both sides."

"All Lives Matter" is considered a term of disrespect as it represents, to many, the antithesis of the original movement created to empower Black people, "Black Lives Matter." After being roasted on social media for the lyric, he took to Twitter to clearify what he meant:
