Judge Calls A$AP Rocky’s Mother ‘Very Beautiful:’ ‘That’s on the Record’
The judge in A$AP Rocky’s assault trial made his attraction known to the rapper’s mother, Renee Black.
On Wednesday, January 22, during the second day of jury selection in Rocky’s trial, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mark S. Arnold inquired about the attendees in the Harlem native’s section. The rapper is currently on trial for the November 2021 alleged shooting of his childhood friend, Terell Ephron, formerly known as A$AP Relli. The following August, Rocky was charged with two counts of assault involving a semi-automatic rifle.
As legal reporter Meghann Cuniff shared on X, formerly Twitter, Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, confirmed that two individuals with him were his mother and sister, Erika B. But Judge Arnold was apparently baffled that Black was a mother of two, to which Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, asked, “You can't tell, right, which one's the mom?”
“You must have had him when you were about 7?” the judge asked, before Black confirmed that she was 26 upon giving birth to the “Tailor Swif” artist.
“You are very beautiful. That's on the record,” declared.
As Rocky and his sister left the courtroom, Cuniff reiterated the comment that Judge Arnold gave his mother, which he laughed at.
