Rihanna Is Reportedly Planning To Drop New Album In December
Although Rihanna has been dropping some serious hints about her ninth studio album, the Bajan bad gal has kept her fan base, the Navy, frustrated waiting for new music. She’s even resorted to trolling fans asking for music updates amid Fenty drops. Just when most of us were ready to give up hope, some new details have leaked about when R9 might finally reach our ears.
A source close to the Bajan superstar revealed that her team was reportedly heavily considering releasing a dancehall-inspired album close to Black Friday. That was followed by reports that RiRi had registered a track, “Private Loving,” co-written by dancehall artist and producer Demarco, with the music publisher BMI.
Now it seems the album might have an official release date, according to an unverified report.
A Rihanna fan account (Rihanna News @TeamofRihanna) re-shared and translated tweets from multiple French journalists stating that Rih is releasing her new long-awaited album in December.
Yesterday (Sept. 8), Universal Music France held its annual “Open Session” where it unveiled a lineup for the rest of the new music slated to come out this fall. Rihanna was one of the names on it alongside Drake, The Weeknd and Migos, who are coming out with new music in November.

Rih has yet to confirm the news herself, but fans are taking it as a sign from the music gods — and reading into every possible clue for details.
After the mogul touched down in NYC yesterday, one fan was convinced the insanely miniature banana yellow purse she was sporting held the answer to their prayers.
“She has R9 on a thumb drive in that purse. A tease,” one person speculated.
“Mama’s holding a bag full of bops,” another wrote.
For now, we will just have to wait to see. Check out the Navy’s mixed bag of reactions below:
