There certainly isn't enough transgender representation on television, but Amiyah Scott is certainly tearing down that door, which is why she is being honored in our 12 Days of Pride.

You see Amiyah Scott every week on Lee Daniels’ series Star. She is only the second transgender woman to play a major trans character in a scripted television drama series in America – the first being Laverne Cox, of course.
Amiyah got her start in the Black and Latino ballroom scene. Through modeling, grinding and building a massive following on social media, she managed to land herself a regular gig on a hit TV series. Originally, she was supposed to be on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, but she went from almost being a peach to a star.
