Kevin Gates Had This Message For Deadbeat Fathers On Father's Day
Kevin Gates is just as known for his music as he is for making some pretty wild comments in the past that have left us all collectively scratching our heads. But, as the saying goes, a broken clock is right twice a day.
Following in the footsteps of 50 Cent, Kev is the latest celeb to offer his unfiltered opinion on the yearly tradition of Father's Day. He had a very specific audience on his mind and didn’t waste any time addressing it in a short video uploaded to his Instagram on June 16.
When the video first starts, the rapper appears to be going back and forth between keeping his eyes on the road and looking into his phone while delivering his message.
The Luca Brasi 3 rapper appears to be on his way somewhere, but that doesn't stop him from taking some time to uplift and put a spotlight on parents across the country working hard to raise and provide for their children.
Right off the cuff, he salutes all the single mothers out there carrying the full load of parenting on their backs.“Happy Father’s Day to everybody out there that helped raised a child, even to the mothers out there that had to play mama and daddy ‘cause niggas p*ssy. Happy Father’s Day to you too,” he drawled.
As for absentee fathers, he had no love for them and did not hold back in reading deadbeat daddies to filth.
“No happy Father’s Day to if you was a just a sperm donor. You just ‘uhhh’ and pissed in the p**sy. That don’t count,’ the Louisiana native declared.
In case anyone was not feeling what Mr. Gates had to say, the “Changing Lanes” MC challenged them to speak up.
“Start talking. I’m listening,” he finished right as the video cuts off.
While his comments were mostly filled with equal praise for hardworking mamas, others were quick to express their displeasure with mothers getting a shout out during Father’s Day.
“Our Community so backwards even on Fathers day we shouting out single Mothers like they don't have a day of their own,” one user commented.
“Stop mixing up a parents job with a fathers job,” another commented. “If your not a Male you can't do a fathers job because you haven't lived through life through a Male's perspective.”
