Omarion Says He’s ‘Not A Covid Variant’ In Hilarious New Year's Message

The last time the singer had to clear the air about a name misunderstanding was “when everyone confused Y2K with B2K.”

Omarion is setting the record straight: he’s an entertainer, not a variant of the coronavirus.

On Saturday, January 1, the 37-year-old R&B singer shared a TikTok video addressing the in-jest jokes tied to his name and the new Covid-19 variant, Omicron.

"Hi everybody, this is Omarion. I am an artist, not a variant," he says in the clip. "So please be aware that if you just so happen to run into me on the street, you don't have to isolate for five days, nor do you have to have a negative test result in order to dance to my music."

He continues: “So please, be safe, be healthy, happy new year.”

Omarion also shared two follow up TikTok videos continuing to poke fun at the similarities between the spelling of his name and the Omicron variant.

In December, LaKeith Stanfield teased Omarion in a since-deleted IG post, According to Complex.

Posting a screenshot he sent to the B2K musician, Stanfield wrote, "You ruining Christmas for everybody smh," he captioned his post, "I'm weak i wonder if he's gunna respond."
