WFH Zoom Meeting Hacks: How To Look Cute On Camera While You Work From Home

We’ve come up with 5 ways to help you look your best!

If you’re like many Americans who are working from home during this trying time, video conference calls like Zoom are quickly becoming the new norm. That means, from time to time we’re going to have to swap out our favorite onesie pajamas for something a bit more presentable.

Trust us, the thought of putting on an entire outfit with hair and makeup may be a bit much, but the fact remains that you are still working. Even if you’re only meeting virtually, you still want to look somewhat professional and pulled together.

We know, you’re at home so you want to be as comfortable as possible, right? Sure, it’s fine to rock your comfy loungewear, but the days can quickly become a blur with no real distinction between the workweek and personal time without switching up our clothing.

For many, wearing clothes helps put them into a productive mindset. However, getting dressed to the level you would go when going into an actual office seems excessive.

So, here at BET, we’ve come up with 5 hacks to help you look cute while video conferencing with your co-workers. Because let’s face it, this is new to all of us!

  1. Do your make-up and comb your hair

You don't have to do a full-beat, but applying concealer and lip gloss can take you a long way! Also, don't forget to brush your hair. You would hate to distract your colleagues with bed-head!

  2. Get dressed, At least from the waist up

Business on top and pajamas on the bottom! It isn't necessary to get fully dressed, but putting on a cute blouse will impress (and fool) your co-workers.

  3. Prop the computer up and Don't get too close to the camera

Placing your computer on a table or a desk and not sitting too close will help remove that weird illusion of a double-chin!

The virtual background feature allows you to display an image or video as your background during a Zoom Meeting. You can also upload your own images or videos as a virtual background.

  6. Find A quiet place to sit to get work done

If you don’t live alone, it will be nearly impossible to get away from your family or roommates since everyone is in quarantine. But for your meeting, try to find a quiet place, even if you have to hide and lock yourself in a bedroom for 20 minutes!
