Kehlani Announces Release Date For New Album ‘Crash’
Kehlani is back with new music and we’re here for it!
The R&B songstress recently announced the release date for their album “Crash,” PEOPLE reports.
Taking to Instagram, Kehlani shared the stunning cover art for the highly-anticipated album which will be their first project in more than two years.
“CRASH 6.21.24 the album. 💥💥💥,” Kehlani’s post read.
After a hiatus, Kehlani released their new single “After Hours” in April which has garnered more than 19 million streams and counting on Spotify.
According to Kehlani, the album will feature more uptempo tracks and positive themes which is a departure from some of their previous works. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, they explained the transition to creating more songs that spark good vibes.
“Coming out of this pandemic to global tragedy to global tragedy to global tragedy, I was like I’m not really in a space to make something that feels super jarring or super sad,” they continued. “I’m very outspoken about these things, but I want my art to provide some kind of life and fun. I wanna hear this outside and I wanna feel good.”
“Because those drums, when they drop, it’s so recognizable and everybody just loses it. It’s one of those things where it drops and everybody goes, ‘Woo,’ and bends their knees and puts their hands on their knees,” Kehlani said.
“Crash” follows their previous albums, “Blue Water Road” (2022), “It Was Good Until It Wasn’t” (2020), and “SweetSexySavage,” (2017).
