Report: Meek Mill, Drake Beef Hurt Pinkprint Tour Ticket Sales

Data shows prices dropped after MMG rapper's Twitter rant.

The Twitter rant that spawned countless memes and two diss tracks from Drake could be hurting Nicki Minaj's PinkPrint tour. According to Philly.com, ticket prices dropped 20 percent during the period after Meek Mill blasted Drizzy on social media.

“The average ticket price for a Meek Mill [and] Nicki Minaj] concert on July 20 was $179,” Jackson Riso, a data analyst for TickPick, said in an email. “By the time OVO Fest came around, that had fallen nearly 20 percent to $148.”

Despite the data, there’s no way to definitively prove the digital beef directly affected ticket sales, since prices are known to drop as tours wind down. However, Philly.com points out that Sam Smith's tour, for example, only saw a $10 dip in prices over the same period.

Meek is the supporting act to the national leg of Minaj’s PinkPrint tour, which wraps this month. Residue from the Drizzy beef seeped into the show at the height of their little war of words, and just as the Toronto rapper did him during the OVO Fest, Meek used stage time to send shots back at his apparent rival.

The runaround ended after Meek moved on from the very battle that he started, and pulled his Drake diss, “Wanna Know,” from SoundCloud.
