Michael Ealy Series Common Law Gets Cancelled

The freshman drama will not return for a second season.

As 2012 winds to a close, it appears that actor Michael Ealy had a great year in movies and just a so-so year in television.

TV Line.com is reporting that the 39-year old actor’s buddy cop series Common Law has officially been cancelled by USA. The network confirmed that the drama had been struggling in the ratings and that it would not be renewed for a second season.

The series centered on two detectives portrayed by Ealy and Warren Kole who are sent to couples therapy to save their partnership.

But on the big screen, Ealy’s star continues to shine white hot. The actor starred in three movies this year, including Underworld: Awakening, Unconditional and the hit comedy Think Like a Man, which grossed over $90 million at the box office.

It is highly likely that Ealy will be reprising his role for the sequel of Think Like a Man, which was announced this past June. Plus, the ever busy actor just wrapped production on the film About Last Night. His starring role in the remake of the '80s classic also reunites him with Think Like a Man co-stars Kevin Hart, Regina Hart and film producer Will Packer.
