WTF: Damon Dash Runs Up On Lee Daniels In Public Over Alleged $5 Million Debt
Mo'Nique isn't the only well-known enemy Lee Daniels has to be weary of. Most recently, Damon Dash went public with his gripe with the famous movie director, and it was all captured on video.
According to TMZ, Dash is claiming Daniels scammed him out of a movie producer credit and millions of dollars in cash and he is laying it all out in a new lawsuit against the director.
The entertainment mogul claims the Precious director promised to get him an executive producer credit for a Richard Pryor biopic in addition to five percent on Daniels' back-end profits from the film. However, he claimed in his court documents that Daniels ditched the project altogether, and also left him high and dry on his promises.
As a result, Dash is suing Daniels for $5 million.
This news comes shortly after Dash was seen and taped confronting Daniels at a Diana Ross show at the Hollywood Bowl just last week.
In the video, which he has since posted to his own Instagram account — along with a thorough caption detailing his fury of the situation — he can be seen warning him that he is preparing to hit him with a lawsuit if he doesn't cough up the cash. Daniels, clearly embarrassed by the public debacle, seemed to agree that he was at fault.
Take a look, below:
This isn't the first money dispute the two have had. Back in 2014, Dash sued Daniels over an alleged loan in which he he was never reimbursed.
