As the season of Fall commences, it signals that football season is well underway. While the NFL has earmarked Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays—Friday nights and Saturdays belong to the collegiate ranks. This season, HBCU gridiron action is poised to display Black excellence, from the athletic prowess of the players to the strategies conceived by the coaching staffs.

In the world of HBCU football, the "classic" matchups between rival schools are a storied tradition. Every year, the classic games feature the best of the best in HBCU football and alumni come from across the country to celebrate at their alma mater—whether it's in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), or Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).

Setting the classic games off right, the Howard Bison (2-1) defeated Morehouse Maroon Tigers (0-3), 35-14 in the 2024 HBCU NY Classic held at MetLife Stadium on September 14.
