New Video Shows Aftermath of Ray Rice Elevator Incident
Two very different surveillance videos.
That's the best way to describe the second footage that has surfaced in the Ray Rice – Janay Rice domestic violence incident at the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., from February.
The first surveillance video, which was released by TMZ Sports this past September, showed Rice knocking out his then-fiancée, Janay, unconscious with a punch inside the hotel's elevator. What hadn't been seen, prior to Friday, was the aftermath of the ugly incident. On Friday, ABC News released extra footage, showing the star running back and Janay seated apart at the Revel Hotel and each speaking to police after the punch. Cops then escort the couple, each of whom is handcuffed, into an elevator, where they kiss. Both were arrested for assault, but the charges were dropped against Janay.
Originally, the NFL suspended Rice for two games of the 2014 season back in July upon his February arrest. However, upon release of the domestic violence footage, the Baltimore Ravens cut their star rusher and the NFL suspended him indefinitely in September.
Rice won his appeal of the decision in late November and was reinstated to the NFL. No NFL team has yet to sign Rice, though.
