Chrisean Rock, Sentenced for November Assault, Faces More Legal Issues
Rapper and reality star Chrisean Rock has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and 12 months of probation for charges related to a November assault against dancer James Wright.
The 24-year-old star, whose real name is Chrisean Malone, was arrested Friday (June 14) at the San Fernando Valley courthouse, where she was supporting on-and-off again boyfriend and rapper Blueface, who was there for his probation violation proceedings.
Rock's legal troubles originate from an alleged altercation with Wright on November 10 at the Novo in downtown Los Angeles. Wright, who was performing with singer Tamar Braxton that night, claimed in a lawsuit that Rock struck him repeatedly in the face while wearing rings, resulting in two broken teeth.
According to court records reviewed by The Times, the “Vibe” rapper entered a no-contest plea ahead of sentencing. Additionally, she has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from both Wright and the Novo.
Rock's legal challenges extend beyond this incident, as she is also wanted in Oklahoma. This warrant is potentially linked to her probation for a 2022 arrest in Oklahoma on charges including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled, dangerous substance.
It remains uncertain if and when she will face extradition.
