Rick Ross Hires 24-Hour Armed Security
It's better to be safe than sorry. That's the approach Rick Ross is taking after narrowly escaping a drive-by shooting on Monday [Jan. 28].
According to TMZ, the Maybach Music Group boss has ordered around-the-clock protection from armed security guards to protect him from further attempts on his life. A source in the rapper’s camp revealed to TMZ that Ross had been receiving death threats prior to being shot as he left a South Florida restaurant early Monday morning. It has been widely reported that members of the notorious street gang Gangster Disciples had a beef with the rap star.
The "Hold Me Back" rapper is reportedly viewing the shooting as an “eye-opener” and is prepared to take the necessary steps to prevent any future attempts from being successful.
Though Rozay has not commented on the incident, G.O.O.D. Music MC Pusha T revealed to MTV News, that he spoke to the hip hop star following the shooting.
"I don't wanna hear about that with anybody. I definitely like hit him up like, 'Yo just let me know you're okay.' We have the same mix engineer and I ended up speaking to him later on that day and he was like, 'Yeah, he's just laying back,'" said Pusha. "That was enough for me, but it's tough out here. It's tough out here for an artist. This is the only profession where you don't really leave your core. You don't really leave your upbringing. You don't really leave that behind, you stay in it, lyrically and so on and so forth. You can't really get out of it, you can't get away from it. I don't care how much money you have."
Ross is a guest on the boastful street banger "Millions," which is featured on Pusha’s recently released mixtape Wrath of Caine.
