King Louie Appears on CNN Just a Week After Being Shot in the Head
King Louie was shot in the head, among other areas, less than a week ago and was in serious condition when he reached the hospital.
Miraculously it looks like he’s doing much better and is even well enough to make TV appearances. He joined Don Lemon on CNN last night to talk about the gun violence that’s ripped a lot of his native Chicago apart.
"The devil is working overtime in Chicago," Louie said when asked why there’s so much violence happening in his city. “I don’t think I would be here today if it wasn’t for prayer. I deeply appreciate all the prayers that people had made for me, everybody that prayed for me and the prayers from my family and everything because that kept me strong and got me through my situation,” he continued later in the interview. “We just got to be strong and pray for our city and the right people have to do the right things.”
King Louie was shot a reported seven times on December 24. He’s been part of the movement to end gun violence through his “Put the Guns Down” initiative. Although he is doing better, Louie told Lemon he still has two bullets from the incident remaining in his chest and one in his head.
Two people were pronounced dead during the shooting while five others suffered serious injuries. The investigation into who pulled the trigger is still ongoing.
