Drake Talks Missing Out On Andre 3000 Feature For Thank Me Later

Who says being hip-hop's biggest name gets you everything on your collaboration wish list?

Though Drake's "Thank Me Later" is stacked with a handful of superstar features (Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, T.I., Swizz Beatz, The-Dream & Young Jeezy), the Toronto native missed out on one key collaborator: Andre 3000.

Drake told VIBE.com of the missed opportunity, "I really tried to do a song with Andre 3000, but I think it was meant for my second album.

If anything, Drake believes that Andre's missed chance is a gesture to him needing more experience despite his success thus far. "Dre is one of those people that needs you to do a little more," Drizzy revealed to VIBE.

He’s one of those people that believe in his craft so much that he needs you to do more than just be over hyped or just famous. In his mind, I have to prove myself and the truth is, I do. That’s just being real. I have a lot of work to do, so I actually respect him for that.

But if all goes as planned, Drizzy and Andre will hopefully link up for his second project, which is already rumored to be titled "Moments.

I think on the second album I’ll probably only have two features," Drake asserted. "I have a few people in mind and Dre probably will be one of them.”

Drake's "Thank Me Later" is in stores today (June 15).
