Oh No, Sir! Rihanna's Uncle Was Caught Selling Bootleg Fenty x Puma In Barbados
We regret to inform you that Rihanna's uncle, Leroy Fitzgerald Brathwaite, has made a big mistake — he got in between her and her coin (and her intellectual property). Though Rih has a full song and music video dedicated to those who have financially wronged her in the past, seems like unc didn't get the memo.
On a recent trip to her homeland, RiRi noticed that Fenty x Puma knockoffs were being sold on the island. The Shade Room reports that she notified a Puma rep of the bootleg merch, who then flew in to Barbados to investigate firsthand and ultimately filed a police report.
Leroy pleaded not guilty before a court yesterday and "denied that in trade or commerce, he engaged in conduct, to wit, exposed for sale goods bearing the trademark known as Puma which would mislead the public as to the nature of the goods." It has been reported that Leroy has been released from jail on bail and will appear before a court on November 28 to receive his trial.
This marks the second time just this week that Fenty x Puma has seemingly been copied. Astute Twitter users noticed that the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which was taped this past weekend and will air November 28, showed some garments that bore an uncanny resemblance to Rihanna's two most recent Fenty x Puma collections, as you can see above.
She's told you once, don't make her tell you again: don't f**k with her money, folks!
