Cardi B Shares Details Of Sexual Harassment By A Magazine Photographer
Rapper Cardi B is bravely speaking out about a incident she experienced during a magazine photoshoot.
On Wednesday, September 25, a preview clip from WeTV's Untold Stories of Hip Hop included a segment of Angie Martinez interviewing the Bronx superstar.
Cardi, born Belcalis Almanzar, described how the photographer exposed himself to her before asking, “Yeah, you want to get in this magazine.” The identity of the photographer or the media outlet has not been revealed.
The Grammy winner described how she swiftly gathered her belongings and left the photoshoot because she “was so f*ck*ng mad. And I was just like, 'This is crazy.' I was actually f*ck*ng bugging."”
The mother of one also explained the photographer’s actions to the magazine’s owner who showcased little support or genuine concern, “He just looked at me like, 'So? And?',” recalled Cardi.
Cardi acknowledged just how common sexual harassment is and how it effects everyday people and celebrities alike.
“When I see the Me Too movement, there's girls from the ‘hood, I know that they went through the same type of treatment. They make you feel like you got to do a certain type of thing for the most b*llsh*t. It happens really every day."
Martinez asked if she had experienced similar sexual harassment at this point in her career, to which she denied, but stated how she wouldn’t hesitate to “put you on blast on my Instagram."
