Janelle Monáe Just Released The Teaser For Her New Slavery Horror Film 'Antebellum,' And Twitter Is Spooked
Janelle Monáe is flexing her acting chops like never before.
Fresh off the release of Harriet, the "Pynk" singer is teasing another project that's sure to be a blockbuster: a new film called Antebellum. The film is steeped in the depths of horror, with the producers of Get Out and Us adding their signature trippy touch to the slavery-themed project.
According to the press release, Antebellum, described as a "terrifying thriller," follows successful author Veronica Henley (Monáe) as she finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality. While the depths of the plot remains relatively unknown, the film's synopsis simply explains that she must "uncover the mind-bending mystery before it's too late."
In addition to Monáe, the film features an ensemble cast, including Kiersey Clemmons, Marque Richardson, Jena Malone, Jack Huston, Eric Lange and Gabourey Sidibe.
