Kobe Bryant's Sister Sharia Shares Touching Birthday Tribute Honoring the Late NBA Legend
Sharia Washington, one of Kobe Bryant's two elder sisters, shared a sweet message about the late basketball legend on Instagram yesterday (Aug. 23) on what would have been his 45th birthday.
"Your physical presence is missed every day, but your legacy will live on forever. Happy birthday Bean! Love you," Washington wrote.
She added, "'You are responsible for how people remember you — or don't. So don't take it lightly. - KB."
The photo series featured pictures of Bryant, Washington, and sister Shaya Tabb as children and adults.
PEOPLE reports that shortly after Bryant and Gianna's death, Washington also honored her late family members with a tattoo of their jersey numbers, 2 and 24, surrounded by a snake in the shape of an infinity symbol.
Kobe's widow, Vanessa Bryant, also shared a message of love on her husband's birthday, writing, "Happy 45th birthday, baby. I love you always & forever. ❤️ #82378," as the caption under a picture of the two of them.

According to Footwear News, the sweater features the Mamba & Mambacita boucle logo on the front of the garment, with Kobe and Gigi’s numbers and heart detailing on the back. She also wore matching shorts from the collection. The shorts featured a drawstring waistband with the Mamba & Mambacita boucle logo on the left leg.
Today, Aug. 24, is officially Kobe Bryant Day in Los Angeles and Orange County.
Nike released a new shoe the Kobe 8 Protro "Halo" in celebration.
"The Kobe VIII protro’s came out beautiful!!!!," Vanessa wrote on Instagram alongside a pic of her wearing the shoe, she added, "Love collaborating with the Nike footwear team on Kobe’s line.
Nike wanted this debut Halo Collection to be limited and collectable but the good news is Nike is working towards more units for future Kobe releases! The “Kobe Halo” collection debuts on Kobe’s birthday tomorrow, collect all future Halo releases to celebrate this special day every year."
