50 Cent is no longer influential in the world of hip hop, Steve Stoute said in an interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez posted online Tuesday (Feb. 24).

The former label executive-turned-entrepreneur was asked to list his five most influential rap figures and rattled off the usual suspects, Dr. Dre, Jay Z, Diddy and Kanye West, but no Fif.

"He hasn't had a hit in a really long time," Stoute explained. "He has not made anything musically that's changed anything in a very long time, I feel like he's always gearing up for something that never happens. Hopefully now that he's independent and there's no record company to blame, his aggressive content will get on the air. I don't know."

The G-Unit founder's relevance is measured not so much by his bank account, but his ability to impact fans. While Dre, Jay, 'Ye and Diddy continue to leverage their music rank into profitable business ventures, 50 hasn't been able to climb his way back to rap dominance. "I think he's trying to get back," continued Stoute. "Music is a great platform. If you're an entrepreneur [and] you're currently active making music, touching people with albums, it makes it much easier for you to venture into business deals that will become successful."

50 recently split from Interscope Records and will release his Animal Ambition album in June, yet his records don't resonate like they used to. "Probably the last great song he made was 'I Get Money,'" TheTanning of America author added. "Kanye's put out three albums, four albums, since then." 

Martinez joked that Stoute's opinion could land him in a 50 diss record. Needless to say, he's not concerned. "Great, hopefully it gets on the radio," he replied.
