Common Reveals His Chicago Rap Mount Rushmore – Leaves Out Chief Keef
The Mount Rushmore of Rappers debate is never-ending, with choices constantly evolving. Recently, Common shared his take on the topic, focusing exclusively on Chicago rappers.
In an interview with 107.5 WGCI, the 52-year-old artist was asked to name the Chicago natives he would include on his Mount Rushmore. Common began his list with Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, and Twista, and followed up with Lil Durk in the fourth spot.
“Durk is doing what he needs to do,” said the actor.
After stating he had to exclude himself from the list and naming Chance The Rapper as his final choice, the "Silo" actor faced pushback from one of the hosts, Leon Rogers.
Rogers pointed out that the "Just Wright" star did not include Chief Keef, who Rogers believes paved the way for artists like Lil Durk.
While Common acknowledged Rogers' sentiments, he shared that Durk is continuing to elevate the movement at this time.
